SAAP dues run from meeting to meeting. Dues are now due for all of us, except for those who have already renewed or joined recently (since Thanksgiving). Details on how to join or renew on this page.

SAAP Membership

Welcome to the membership page!

On this page you can pay your dues, enter or update your current profile information (address, affiliation, interests, etc.) and donate to special projects.

William Myers handles membership dues (including online payments) and keeps membership records for SAAP. IF YOU NEED TO BECOME A MEMBER OR RENEW, CONTACT BILL.

David Hildebrand is the contact for the online membership forum.

If you have not paid or entered your information, you can:

  1. Pay using Paypal or by mail (instructions below)
  2. Enter/Update your profile. Go to the SAAP membership data page and add your profile to the membership forum. This will guarantee that your profile is current in the SAAP database.

If you have recently paid your dues (or if you are a student/non-paying member), you can simply skip step 1 above and go create a profile (step 2).

Online Membership using PayPal

To pay your SAAP membership dues online, please follow these instructions:

  1. Learn how to protect yourself from fraudulent emails: Please protect yourself by paying close attention to the emails you receive and the web sites you visit.
    1. Learn about PayPal's security tips.
    2. Read this short piece in the New York Times.
    3. Educate yourself about spam/email fraud here.
  2. Select the appropriate membership fee and click on the "Pay Dues" button to fill out a secure online membership form. (Learn how PayPal safeguards your privacy and more.)
  3. After your transaction has been completed, a receipt for your membership dues will be emailed to you.

Benefactor Membership - $140

Sustaining Membership - $90

Regular Membership - $60 (earning more than $50,000 annually)

Regular Membership - $40 (earning less than $50,000 annually)

No Dues (Student, Retired, Unemployed, Corresponding Member)

Donations. For those who usually donate to the Society's special projects fund at the same time as they join or renew their memberships, please note this can now be done online, on the donations page.

Pay Membership Fees by Mail

To become a member or renew your membership by mail, please print out the form below, fill it out, and mail to: William T. Myers, Birmingham-Southern College, Box 549013, Birmingham, AL 35254. Dues are "due" at the annual meeting (check made out to: SAAP).

Membership Forms

Online Member Information & Discussion Forums

To create an online SAAP profile, update your contact information, view an online members list, and participate in the SAAP discussion forums:

  1. Go to the SAAP membershipdata page: http://www.american-philosophy.org/membershipdata/
  2. Click on the Register button in the upper right corner.
  3. Read and accept the online registration agreement.
  4. Complete all of the required information and any optional fields you choose to on the Registration Information Form.
  5. Click the Submit button and an email will be sent to you confirming your information.

When you return to the membershipdata page you can login and participate in the forums and post new topics, view and contact other SAAP members using the Memberlist, and review your own Profile information.
